Webb15 jan. 2024 · By the 1940’s all the Jones Island inhabitants had moved on to make way for the new harbor and the sanitation plant. Many years later in the 1970’s, Milwaukee named a small area on the island “Kaszube Park” where fisherman descendants meet each year on the first Saturday in August to celebrate their heritage. WebbTo reach Jones Island you need a boat. Because of this the island seems quiet and fairly pristine. We pulled up to the dock (which can accommodate about 5 - 7 boats simultaneously depending on their size) and tied off in the late morning. Near the dock are are some picnic tables under the trees.
